Being born and raised in
New Orleans, Jodi Borrello's comedy takes on a unique perspective from a one of a kind environment. The source of her comedy all comes down to
one thing --- her family.
"My father went to Mass recently, and before he entered church he went to turn his cell phone off, the phone read 'No Service' - so he went home."
From having managed a family business to being a mother, she carries part of each family member to the stage, and brings them to life in a clever, witty and honest manner. Jodi brings a never ending smile and signature laugh that are infectious with audiences.
Her comedy material is featured alongside the best female
comedians in the bestselling book "She's So Funny" and the
recently published book "Squeaky Clean Comedy."
Jodi is currently performing with Budd Friedman's The Improv at
Harrah's Casinos around the country. Recently appeared on CNNs
Showbiz Tonight, NPR, The Weather Channel and Jodi was chosen
as one of New Orleans 30 People to Watch.
Jodi still resides in New Orleans, calling it home, even after Hurricane Katrina. Jodi will never again sleep in or sit in a bean bag chair. Excerpt from LA Times article:
"The storm scattered the pieces of Borrello's life parents, friends, comedy gigs, a family court-reporting business like confetti in the breeze. The 36-year-old single mom and her 11-year-old daughter, fled with a pair of flip-flops each, two dogs and three clean T-shirts. The two landed at a relative's home in
Opelousas, La., where they slept on beanbag chairs." (NY Times October 2005)
